Varied Spring

The spring of 2024 saw Douglas involved in a wide range of projects at home and abroad. In February he conducted and taught at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels, Belgium. In March the programme of the Southwest German Chamber Orchestra's subscription concert reflected Douglas' growing interest in the music of Thailand with two premieres of works by Thai national Artist Narongrit Dhamabutra, alongside those by Vasks, Pärt and Britten. And, in April he returned to conduct the Central Band of the Singapore Armed Forces, whose Honorary Guest Conductor he is, as well as direct a conducting masterclass.
