Summer Season

The end of July and beginning of August were dominated by wind music. Douglas Bostock was back as a jury member in the international conducting and wind orchestra competitions at WMC (World Music Contest) in Kerkrade, The Netherlands. Douglas first served in the capacity in 2001, in which year he also conducted the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in a concert at the festival. This was followed by a week in Porto, Portugal, at the 5th Edition of the BSP Junior Festival - a summer music camp, with which Douglas has been associated as music director since 2018, both conducting the festival orchestra and teaching an international conducting masterclass.
