B for Beethoven

During the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons Douglas Bostock and the Argovia Philharmonic performed a highly acclaimed cycle of the nine Beethoven symphonies. The cycle has now appeared complete as a playlist on YouTube

Before stepping down as Principal Conductor of the Argovia Philharmonic at the end of this season Douglas Bostock appeared with the orchestra at the opening concert of the Lenzburgiade in Switzerland on 18th June in an all-Beethoven programme: Piano Concerto No.3 and Symphony No.3 "Eroica". The soloist was the orchestra's and conductor's long-time friend and musical partner, Oliver Schnyder

In her review of the concert in the Aargauer Zeitung Anna Kardos wrote: "Whoever says A must also say B, and now it's clear, whoever says Argovia Philharmonic must also say Beethoven"
